Labor Development Program
The Labor Development Program (LDP) promotes interaction between the economic sector and the labor market of Puerto Rico, with the purpose of facilitating access for the populations served with funds from the Law on Opportunities and Innovation in the Workforce (WIOA ) to sustainable jobs.
Youth Development Program
The DEDC Youth Development Program (PDJ) has a mandate in law to implement the Public Policy for Youth established by the Government of Puerto Rico.
Film Industry Development Program
The mission of the Program is to promote and support the development of domestic and foreign cinema in Puerto Rico to turn the island into a jurisdiction recognized worldwide by the industry. For the past 3 years, we have experienced a significant increase in activity related to this industry, which demonstrates, thanks to the talent, geographic position, natural and cultural beauties, and incentives that Puerto Rico offers.
Public Energy Policy Program
The Energy Public Policy Program's mission is to reduce, until eventually eliminate, the use of fossil fuels for power generation, by integrating renewable energy in an orderly and progressive manner, guaranteeing the stability of the Electric System while maximizing the resources of renewable energy in the short, medium and long term.
Permits Management Office
The Permit Management Office (OGPe) is the office in charge of issuing final determinations and permits, licenses, inspections, certifications and any other authorization or procedure that is necessary to attend to the requests of the citizens. Facilitate and promote the integral, economic, social and physical sustainable development of Puerto Rico that will result in the growth of more, better and diverse industries and the creation of jobs in the private sector.
Federal Contracting Center
The Puerto Rico Federal Contracting Center (FeCC), a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), is a division of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DEDC) focused on assisting local businesses to sell their products and services to the federal government. The FeCC is part of a national network of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, a program funded by DoD through collaboration agreements, to assist businesses in the United States make sales to the federal government.
Artisan Development Program
Created in 1977, this program seeks to strengthen craftmanship activity as an important component in the country's economy. The Program is responsible for promoting the crafts economy, offering sponsorships and incentives (non-contributory), certification of craftsmen, training, and facilitating the provision of services and marketing.
Commercial Office of Puerto Rico in the Dominican Republic
The purpose of the Government Office of Puerto Rico in the Dominican Republic is to promote the export of local products to the neighboring island. In addition, facilitate the establishment of local entrepreneurs who wish to expand their operations in that destination.
Hydroponic Program
The Hydroponic Program was made official on October 16, 2018 by Administrative Order of the Secretary of the DEDC. A call period was established from October 16, 2018 to January 31, 2019 and a total of 156 applications were received. On May 21, 2019, the projects selected for the Program were announced, totaling 150. $16 million were awarded for the rehabilitation and expansion of production facilities.
INCENTIVES CODE
To promote the necessary conditions to attract investment from industries, support small and medium merchants, face challenges in medical care and education, simplify processes, optimize and provide greater transparency, Law 60-2019 was signed, which establishes the new Puerto Rico Incentive Code.
